Hillinger blind tasting

Within the scope of an employee training we had a nice blind tasting with Wein&Co boss Heinz Kammerer and Winemaker Leo Hillinger. Aim of this tasting was to compare the range of Hillinger wines in comparison to more or less equal priced other wines and there were some surprises ...

Accomodation for South Africa

Todays birthday party was reason enough to share some nice wines with my family. As our holiday is just two weeks ahead we tasted 2 wines as accomodation for this. Both of them are all time favs and (fortunately enough) available in Austria.

Thelema Cabernet Sauvignon „The Mint“ 2008 - very good/delicious

dark red hue, upfront eucalyptus and mint notes, after eight, bitter chocolate, hints of strong cold earl grey, powerfull palate with gorgeous structure, lingering, black pepper on midpalate, oaky finish, still very young, potential, I just love the smell of this wine!

Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc 2008 - very good

pale gold hue with green reflections, grassy style, bell pepper, some gooseberries, powerfull fresh green grass on the palate, tinned peas, multilayered, quite lean despite the 13%abv, flinty, very good length, nicely integrated acid structure, still very fresh,
